quick question on offset

http://www.motegiracing.com/wheels/d...yle=2131&desc=

those are the wheels im getting, Motegi MR3's in Gunmetal.

they are on my friends cougar right now(he has 4x108 and i have 4x100)

according to Motegis site, the wheel itself is 24lbs and the offset is +40.

so the wheel is 17x7 and has a +40 offset.

is that safe to run if i also get Progress Lowering springs that lower the car 1.8"

i looked in the info that they have in the sticky but it doenst list 'safe' offsets.

THANKS!

rich!

Those wheels will fit fine. And it doesn't matter if it is going on an ES or an OZ/LS. The stock offsets are off becaus the stock rims are different widths.

The concern is when you said he has 4x108 if you plan on buying his rims that won't fit your 4x100 pattern. Other than the bolt pattern, the rim would fit fine. They are porky wheels at 24 lb though. For reference, the stock OZ rims are 15 lb.
