Nope, just light pressure on the gas pedal and the trans will shift at really low RPMs. If you push the pedal hard, the trans won't shift right away, since an engine's power is higher at high RPM. Same reason why someone with a 5 speed wouldn't shift out of first at 2500RPM when they are racing.

a taxi cab smashed my poor lancer b4 i had a chance to try it out. once it gets out of the shop in about a month i'll let you know
