Reverse gear sometimes doesnt engage.

So recently I have noticed that my reverse gear sometimes doesn't engage. The shifter seems to go in the slot but not all the way. When i release the clutch and give it gas i get no grinding of any sort. Then I have to put it in neutral and try again and usually it works the second time. Also note that this does not happen all the time, only sometimes. Anyone knows what it could be?

just hold in the clutch and go into first gear first then slide it to the reverse gear immeditly after then you'll be fine

I just thought of something. Could it be my shifter bushings worn out?

my guess is your throw out bearing is dieing
Or it could actually be the underhood bushing.
