Rack in Pinion

Rack in Pinion

i bought a mitsubishi lancer on asteal because my unkle gave him a truck. i got it for 200. the engine is fine but a lifter is tapping a lil bit(no big problem?) the rack in pinion was broke and i am now replacing it i have the transmisson clamp unbolted from the frame. should i unbolt it from the transmisison or the brace off the transmission? thanks.

The steering gear and linkage is gonna come down with the crossmember all in one piece along with the sway bar. The rear engine mount needs to be unbolted from the crossmember as well as the rear bracket and be removed. This is all per the Mitsubishi FSM.
