Automatic Transmission Filter

Has anyone on here actually changed the transmission filter on their auto lancer? Im working on an 03 OZ and have flushed the system. Now I took the trans pan off which is actually on the front and theirs no filter. The gasket that came with my filter matches the pan, but behind the pan is mechanical parts of the trans. Im going to look at it more and see just what Im supposed to do here, but I highly doubt I should take those parts off.

Any one with any actual experience doing this please share some insite. I have a long drive this weekend and want the car in good order.

Thanks,
-Colton

For our cars there is no replacable filter. There is a screen near the middle of the transmission but you wont get to that unless you take it apart.

So, short and sweet. No, there is no filter to be "replaced" during regular maitenence.

Thank you for that. I went ahead and returned the filter, and after the flush the car now slips into 3rd gear...Don't know whats going on their. Used appropriate fluid and volume. Hop it goes away I guess.

I used the directions someone posted on here about flushing the transmission. I even had the pan off so figured I'd for sure need the 5 quarts that were said to be put in. After 5 quarts in the car was about 1 quart or more over filled. So that was why it slipped, it was overfilled, I drained it out and eventually got it just right. Then had to reset (unplug the battery) to get the trans to shift correctly. These cars are funny like that, TCU seems to learn its way and keep it. Now its all good though. Took a lot of work getting the car to operating temp. Get it level and check fluid, drain some, check level etc. My garage is sloped..maybe thats the real problem.
