CVT Tranny

They other day I was driving rather aggresive and I downshifted really hard on my sportronic shifter and I noticed in my center gauge it had a "1L" displayed on it. What does this mean and how did I do it? I tried doing it again and I cant do it.

Did you hear any beeps? I accidentally downshifted while I was at 5k rpms... it beeped at me a few times and stayed in gear.

I believe you might of knocked it into limp mode. I'm not 100% sure though. Maybe someone else can back me up?

No idea, the car wont let you downshift if you're going too fast for that gear, so I don't know. LIMP mode would consist of it hardly accelerating passed 2-3k RPM, and hardly moving, right? I've never experienced anything like that myself, and I do drive pretty spiritedly at times.

On some cars, "1L" displayed means your fluid level is low. Start by checking your CVT fluid level.
