As you may have read I blew the transmission out of my car the other week at the track. I just received my replacement and I’m running into problems. I cannot install the internal slave cylinder due to the casing not being machined. Has anyone done this any info would be appreciated. From what paperwork I have I will have to disassemble both Trans and put the guts from the 05 into the case of my 02.

you can run it. i have an 04 in my o3. although if yur runnin an evo turbo wyou will not be able to since it has an external salve where the 02-03's had an internal slave. the issue being is that the slave sits too close to the turbo and you wont be able to put yur intake back on. it will work if you have the room to do it. i got pics of what i mean:

The bellhousing for your '02 trans will need to be used. You can use either case, as they are the same exact part (same part as the 3G Eclipse trans also). The input shaft, output shaft, rails and forks will need to be moved from the '05 bellhousing to the '02 bellhousing. You'll be able to see what happened to your trans if you opt to go this route.

Your other option would be to utilize the '04 and later slave cylinder setup. You would need the fork, throwout bearing (with clip to hold it to the fork) and slave cylinder to utilize this setup on your '02.

Ok so i just took my transmission appart and my pinion was toast. lol I got a bunch of awesome parts now lol!
