Talking Confirmation from Clutch Masters

I just received this message from clutch masters:

We do have plans for performance clutch kits for the new lancer .
maybe in the next 60-90 days !!
thanks!

At least one of our prayers have been answered. Cluth masters makes a quality product too.

I believe dude in a mirage (someone from the Mirage boards...I'm PRETTY sure it was diam) said we have the same clutch as the 1.8l mirages. Too busy eating to find the post. It's in the N/A setup thread if I remember right.

My friend at the Mitsu dealership told me they are different, but if they are the same some confirmation would be nice. so far i have found the answer to be no.

Any clue on the cost? Plus, I'm new to the drivetrain side of things, what exactly would the benefits be on the clutchmaster set up?

It should be stable (no slippage) with high power outputs from the engine. Not an necessity for any of us at this point...even the TC'd Lancers shouldn't need them at the boost they're currently running. Good investment if you plan on running higher boost though.

Does it make the clutch able to take more abuse? I mean, I'm great with shifting, but, we all make our mistakes, and I'm trying to teach my wife to drive it too... Anyone got an idea on price?

You don't need a higher strength clutch for teaching someone how to shift. If destroying a clutch was that easy not to many people would drive manuals. The only reason for a grippier and higher strength clutch is to hold whatever (read considerably higher) power you're trying to get to the wheels.

I have a funny feeling that wasn't an attack, Street. Easy there. All he did was answer your question. Apply the tone of the post at your own risk.

As for price...try asking Clutch Masters. If they're that close to release then they should have a cost worked out.

Sorry. Guess recently I've been logging on expecting an attack. I apologize for the defensive posturing.

On this clutch, what would be the exact racing application? I mean, on a car like this, would it allow for faster shifting, affect RPMs... what?

Ahhh I'd beg to differ. To make proper use of that added power a clutch upgrade would be in order. Lancer's stock clutch has a terrible friction point and does not slip very well.

Lone, gotta ask you then. As a person not gonna be runnin' boost, possibly a SC if anything, do you think it would be worth it to make up for the Lancer's socalled terrible friction point? I know these are kind of noob questions, and thanks for the howstuffworks thing, but, I'm wondering exactly what I would notice with this system. Thanks again.
