F%*#ING LANCER!!!!!!! transmission and shifting!!!!!

ok so i dont have a clue whats going on and it is really starting to **** me off.....

so last weekend i was having problems shifting. start the car by kicking in the clutch, go and put it into gear and it would not go in. shut off the car and put it in no problem. get driving and sometimes it would "stick" in gear but it was driveable. made it home ok and then it got worse.

on tuesday when i was coming back from lunch to go back to work, kicked in the clutch to pull in the driveway and i had NO clutch. so i replaced the slave cylinder on thursday. drove fine till last night when it was kinda sticking again. re-bled it this morning and now it seems like i dont have a clutch anymore?

so this is whats happening now...
kick in the clutch, start the car, wont go into gear. shut the car off, shift it into reverse, start the car and it launches itself backwards with the clutch engaged. master cylinder is full and i know there are no air bubbles in the system. then there is a bit of clutch pedal fade after the car shuts off but it can be pumped back up.

would this be the clutch master cylinder going as well?

and for those of you who dont know i got an 03 oz rally with an 04 trans in it with the external slave.

Take the trans off, open it and look for debris, bent parts, and so on.

well i recently opened it up prolly 2 moths ago because my release fork snapped and there was nothing wrong then (and then it sat for about a month or so and ive just got back into driving it) and i only replaced the slave as of now. could it be the clutch master or something else along the way?

Have someone push the clutch to the floor and hold it there while you watch the slave cylinder under the hood (assuming you have the external slave). If there is a hydraulic problem such as a leak, the slave piston will gradually retract back inside while they hold the pedal down. This is the case whether it's an external leak or an internal seal beginning to bypass.

What made the release fork break? I've never heard of such a thing.

ahh try throwing about 300hp at a car designed for 120. also i grnaded a few syncros in my 03 trans so i got an 04 and it was from a salvage yard, so who knows how bad the accident was or where it was....

as for the other problem:

ordered a new clutch master today after talking to some techs and some of the local shops and they all said if one foes then the other usually isnt too far off and usually recommend replaceing both. so hopefully this solves my problem.

+1 I was going to say that exact thing sounds to me like your master is toast bro hopefully that takes care of your issue.

dude i had the same problem about a year ago.. my pedal just statred fallin flat to the floor and wouldnt come back u.. tried everything.. rebleeding the clutch, it would work for about 10 min and would slowly go bad again.. so i bough a new slave cyl.. go to replace it, and its a internal setup, there for had to drop the transmission.. after the slave cyl install, haven't had a problem since.. it was alot of work changing just the slave cyl... but after i took my transmission off a few time.. seems like a pice of cake now..

He switched to the '04+ setup that has the external slave and IIRC he has replaced it as well. I suspect replacing the master will solve his issue.
