EVO VIII 'Short Throw' for my OZ?
EVO VIII 'Short Throw' for my OZ?
So I was checking out some mods I can do for my interior - which I want to keep looking pretty stock. I love the EVO VIII available for the Lancers (found here: http://www.mitsubishiparts.net/catalog/?section=343, mid page).
Has anyone installed this one? How complicated is the install and does it actually shorten the throw?
Any info would be great as the website is kind-of lacking in specs.

I don't even know what brand that is, unless it's saying it is a factory Evo shifter.
If this is the case it will shorten the throw.
It also clearly say's it will shorten the throw.
I have the B&M short shifter and I love it.
Kinda hard to find though.

I have been running this shifter in my Lancer since 2004. The throw is shorter than the factory shifter, and feels much more positive. The install was not hard either. it took about 45 minutes or so.
The site says that it's an OEM part for the Evo. I wonder if I can just pick this up at the dealer instead of ordering it online
@zbailey - Thanks for the info bud
I've seen websites claim a lot of s#!t (fitment, etc) so just cuz they say it will doesn't necessarily convince me :P Show me the specs!! haha

You might have better luck getting it on line. While yo are at it, you might look at swaping out the shifter base bushings as well. It will firm up the shift a bit more by removing the movement from shifter base. You can find bushing kits at a number of places on line. I got mine from WORKS, but you might also check out TMW.

Just a quick update - dealer did not have this in stock. No surprise there, but he was familiar with what I was looking for. Got the part numbers up for the Evo8 OEM gear and had a guy in BC check his inventory. Looks like through him it's going to cost $225+ CAD plus any shipping.
- Guys at Mistubishiparts.net, do you have the part numbers or at least a diagram of what is included with this? (PMing them now
)
Cheers
