Question Transmission Flush and Possible Leak Fix??

Ok, I purchased a 2002 Lancer OZ Rally that is killing me lately on repairs. Im getting a few drops of transmission fluid leaking from the black pan cover on the fron of the transmission. Anyone know what that pan is called? If so how hard would it be to take it off and put a new gasket on? Any torque on the bolts? Im also having trouble getting the dipstick out, its stuck. I have heard of other people having this problem but I was also hoping when I take that front cover off the tranny that I would be able to push on the dipstick and have someone pull. Any help/ advice would be greatly appreciated.

Do you mean the same cover that the dipstick goes into? Thats the valve body cover. Not sure your clearance since I have a stick but the cover itself looks like it has probably about 14 or so bolts that hold it on. Assuming nothing is wrong with the plate or the mating surface on the trans itself its just a matter of draining out the fluid then pulling the cover, cleaning both surfaces really good then resealing it. Torque specs for those bolts are 95 in-ibs or 11 newton meters. Make sure you let it sit for at least 24 hrs before refilling the trans if you have to use rtv.

Thank you for the help! Do you know if its just a regular gasket I would pick up at an auto parts store? Or what to clean the two surfaces with? Is there a transmission filter there as well?

I would use a scraper to get the big stuff off the surfaces then something like scotchbrite to clean it all up nice.
Found this

In the fsm it sorta makes the filter look like its behind the bellhousing though

I had trouble pulling the dipstick out as well. I thought something was in the way so i took off the pan. It turned out k just had to bend the entry point for the dipatick and everything went in and came out well. But i forgot to put the sealer on and just did the bolts. I started dripping tranny fluid bad. Sooo rememver to put that sealer on. You can buy it at autozone for 12$ for the expensive kind.
