Trouble separating gearbox

I am in the process of trying to separate my gearbox from the rest of my transmission in order to replace my input shaft bearing. I have removed all bolts from the bell housing and it still won't pry apart. Is there something i am forgetting or some trick to getting it open? I'm really stuck here and don't know what it might be... it seems like the bearing could be seized to the bell housing size causing it to not pry apart... I don't know if this could be a possibility? Any help anyone could offer would be appreciated. Thanks

If you have the trans sitting on the bellhousing facing up there is a service plug that will be at the rear of the trans (will be facing straight up if you have the trans sitting as I just decribed) you have to remove that plug and there will be a c clip that holds the rear of the output shaft on. You have to release the clip to release the output shaft. After that you will have to take a prybar to the pry points to separate the case its on there really good. Dont forget there are 3 bolts on the inside of the bellhousing too.

Lol, people have cracked their transmission case doing this, and by your post, it sounds like you're on the verge of doing that...you MUST unbolt the whole thing from the block and remove it, to get the bolts inside the bell housing.

Sounds like we need info on exactly what you have pulled off and what you haven't. Yes the shift box there does need removed I assumed you had already pulled everything else off.

Yes. There is also a plate on the bottom of the trans you have to take off it has an idler reverse gear you have to pull out. I pulled out all the sensors as well.

well so far I have the transmission off the car, and I have all the sensors un-plugged, i do not however have them removed. Tomorrow i will take out the black plug to access the c clip and remove the service plate to take out the reverse idler.

what sensors are necessary to completely remove from the transmission? and how do i get the shift box off of it?

Did you take out the bolt on the housing next to the shift housing?
