Oops stripped something!!

Did something really silly by accident. I was bleeding the clutch fluid out and accidentally stripped the bleeder bolt. Not too big of a deal, went down to the auto parts store to get a replacement. It was threading with some resistance so I pulled it out and there was some grey shavings on it. Put the old one back in because it turns out I didn't completely strip the hex portion of it. So I'm bleeding and tightening it back up for the last time and there's.......just give.

I think I may have stripped the housing inside. What can I do? :P I feel really silly.

Bleeder Valve Thread size

What size is the bleeder valve? As the metal is soft, I want to avoid stripping it!

WTF were you loosening/tightening it with? Visegrips? If it's not tightening, just spinning in the housing, then the threads in the housing may be fubared. You could attempt to find a new bleeder screw and see if that helps, but I have no idea what size it is, you would have to find a store that has an assortment and pick through it until you find a match. Our caliper bleeders are M10x1.0, see if that looks like it's the same as for the clutch. You really cant drill for an oversized bleeder nipple because the bottom of the hole has a specific conical taper to it that you cannot replicate. I know it sucks because you have an 02/03 and it's internal, but it sounds like you need to replace the slave cylinder.

did you trip the threads of the slave, the threads of the bleeder screw itself, or rounded off the nut portion of the bleeder screw?

if it was the bleeder screw, you just need a new one, if it was the slave, you are going to have to drop the tranny.....
