2008 CVT vs 2013 CVT Manual mode

Hi,

i am trading in my 2008 GTS for a new 2013 GT both are automatic models with the paddle shift.

one thing i spotted while doing a test drive was that there doesn't seem to be a way to lock the cvt into manual mode.

every time i stopped at a light the car would go back to Drive.

on the 2008 you could do it by moving the shifter to the side.

thanks

Contact the dealer because it could be a malfunction

depending where you live, some lancers will do this. Earlier years, all gts had a floor shifter that had a (+/-) range. If you select that range you will stay in sport mode as long as the shifter is in that range. In the US, the 2013 gt still has this shifter. But in other regions, mitsubishi may have put a standard (P R N D L) shifter meaning you can only enter sport mode by toggling the paddles and it will go back to D every time you come to a full stop. It's the same for (+/-) shifters when you have D selected.

If your sifter does have a (+/-) range and it is behaving the way you mentioned while it has (+/-) selected, then you do have a problem that would need to be handled by the dealer.
