Transmission input sensor 2003 Lancer ES

I searched the forum for the fix for poor transmission shifting and looks like the culprit everyone says is the transmission input sensor. Under the advice of those threads, everyone recommends the Dorman 917-610 which is equivalent to the factory number MR567292. So I bought one from the local car parts place. But when I got home to put it in, the hole for the screw does not line up! What's going on? Many people said this part is a direct replacement and it will fit. Please help. Thanks.

Your problem may be buying it from the local parts store. Sure you have the input sensor located on your Lancer?
