First off, my 04 OZ has 154k on it. a few months back, it started making some odd noises that would go away when you pushed in the clutch. It shifted perfectly fine, never slipped out of gear, or any of that. It started slipping, so I took the week off to get it changed. After reading on here (and being extremely paranoid) I am beginning to wonder if anything else could be wrong, such as the input shaft bearing. The transmission is out, and when you turn the input shaft, it makes a rubbing like sound. I've been told that is normal without fluid in the transmission. But the shaft has a tiny bit of play in and out, and also side to side. Is this normal? I can post a video to exactly what I am talking about if need be. But I am completely lost and don't wanna get everything back together if this could be the issue.
