03 lancer es clutch replacement?

Doing an engine rebuild, with a 4g93 turbo manifold and setup. Have all that ready, last thing I'm worried about is the clutch. I'm going stage 1 replacement, nothing too fancy, but as far as replacing it, how? I know that on our transmissions the TOB is included with the slave because it's internal, not external like eclipse clutch jobs I've done. Does anyone have experience with the 4g94 clutch replacement?

yes, the slave cylinder and release bearing is integral, and is included in OE replacement kits. For aftermarket performance kits i don't think it is included...at least ACT for example does not include it, but i know for a fact that the Exedy OE replacement kit comes with it, unless you specifically buy the kit without it ("LB" for "less bearing" noted at the end of the part number)...

I'm not sure if there are any high performance release bearings for the 4g94, but i would almost look into converting to an external slave and fork configuration...at least in the event that the slave leaks or fails, you're not ruining the clutch, which is what happened to my 03 ES.

Ok, is it easy to change? I've had issues with the f5m42 transmissins clutch fork and bearing popping off the ball during reinstall. Any tips to re install internal slave and bearing?

I don't see too many clutches for the ES, but have seen quite a few for the OZ

slave/TOB bolts to the inside of the bell housing...should not have any problems...

Can I retrofit an external slave and new fork and bearing onto an 03 trans?
