Different clutch kits
I am looking at ebay, as my slave went on me and the throw out was starting to go. I figure since i'll have the tranny down i might as well change the clutch. I have the Exedy with slave up for $195 on ebay im getting ready to order.
My question is. What are all these cheap ones claiming to be stage 2-4 kits? some have a slave, some dont. Mitsuko kit is one that sticks out just because it actually has a name.
also this one that claims to be OEM... http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-REPLACEMENT-PREMIUM-CLUTCH-KIT-SLAVE-CYL-02-03-MITSUBISHI-LANCER2-0L-/261773482044?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2002%7CMake%3AMitsubishi%7CModel%3ALancer&hash=item3cf2ea583c&vxp=mtr
I did go through searching and only found questions about something being wrong or installing, not specifically these cheap clutches

That's probably a jobber clutch kit... if i were you i would order parts off of an Excedy or Act approved provider to make sure you have quality parts. Both make oem or performance clutch kits that will perform like the oem equipment. Sometimes it's worth paying a little more for quality party if you don't want to have any problem or premature wear on your components.
Ok heres my question, my car has a newer clutch from about 15k miles ago, i didnt see a reason not to just get the kit and have the clutch for future purposes. would the throw out be ok from a cheaper kit, as thats what i need to fix my problem.
if the throw-out/slave ends up leaking...it will ruin the clutch...if the clutch only has 15k on it then just get a new slave/TOB...and get quality, you don't want your throwout bearing to be garbage...
Personally i use an oem throwout bearing and a jobber slave cylinder but since your slave is inside the transmission make sure it's not some cheap crap from ebay and try to get the highest quality in jobber if you don't buy it oem
Yeah i just ordered and exedy, but it seems im going to have to look into a 04/05 transmission as the slave is a common problem.
what do you mean by jobber?
