right, they sandwich around the cable ends (easier to insert/remove)

you got 5 though? you should only need 4 (2 big, 2 small)

Does anyone have both the under the hood bushings and the in console bushings installed? I was wondered if doing both would make for a really good shifter feel.

On the website http://www.kartboy.com/products.html there are only bushings for the evo. Are these the same as the ones for the lancer? Also is the shift knob threaded the same for the evo and the lancer?

this might help (keeping in mind the kartboy linkage bushings are two pieces each, not one like the speedsource):

Yeah im a little confused about what you do with the two pieces as well. The big one makes sense but the small one you can't see in the picture so can't see where it goes.

there are two cable ends and a pair of bushing halves for each end. one cable end takes the small bushing halves, the other takes the large ones.

for each cable end, one bushing half fits into the bottom of the cable end, the other onto the top. you sandwich them tightly, put them back on the pin, replace the washer, and then put back the cotter clip.

Yes, the bushings are the same for the Lancer. And the shifter is the exact same on both cars as well. I have the shift knob and it fits fine on the stock shifter (I have yet to upgrade to a short shifter).

ez76 explained the other questions perfectly. The four bushings you receive are really four halves. The stock bushings are one piece, but the Kartboy just come in pieces.

Okay, I just tried to push the cable bushings out w/ my hands and had no luck. Is there any better way of getting them out?

I had the same problem when i installed mine, tried a screwdriver but just ended up sucking it up and pushing them out with my hands. I found the small one was the hardest simply cause i couldn't get a good grip on just the rubber section of it. It was a pain of an install especially with the stock airbox still there but was definitely worth it.

the two small ones you got with the big ones go under the hood, like the big ones.
