hi dudes... Ok just a quick one... I got a flat ... And changed the tire for the spare(The sweet cream looking one hehe I looked like a dope driving it
)
Anyway when I changed the tire I noticed some rust build on the wheel part where the threading is ( the plate that touches the rim and has the threads sticking out) Anyway some of this rust was on the rim too... but I think it just rubbed off on there ... don't think it has anything to do with rusting of the rims...
Just wondering if this sort of thing was normal.. if it makes any difference it was the rear wheel.
Sorry if Ididn't explain it well...
should I bother taking it in to get checked? or tell them next time I take the car in?
Thanks guys...

Yea, this is normal. The rub on the hub by the drum brake in the back will cause the coating to come off, and you get the surface rust you saw. Re-powder coating the drums are a solution, but at any rate, definately not something to worry about.
Did all Lancer's come with undercoating?
I looked at mine last night and a,most blew my top because it looked like I had a gas or oil leak. So I reached under the car and tried to rub it away with a paper towel and after about 5 mins of it not coming off, I realized the dealer said something about a under coating to help perserve the car and prevent rust.
You all may laugh at me now.
