vibrations in steering wheel

hey guys

just wanted to see if this is common or if i should get this checked out? i went to dealership and got the recall taken care of. at the time, they also changed the oil and rotated the tires. it seems know when i am driving on the freeway i get bad vibrations in the steering wheel that i never had before. does anybody know why this is or should i get checked out? cause?

thanks

Vibrations on the steering wheel most likely occur when braking, due to uneven wear of the brake pad, or a warped rotor. But, since you didn't include that I don't know what to think, unless your front wheels aren't balanced properly.

Let me guess...the vibration is at about 80 mph?

Get a rebalance and a proper torque check on the lug nuts...take it back the next day (or even later in the day) and get the lugs torque checked again...they need to be re-seated after driving

...random post ^^ ... i get it at 65 to 70, but my lancer also pulls to the right. so im always pulling the opposite. i do notice at 70 the car drives perfectly straight, or atleast enought for me to stop holding onto the wheel ( for a few seconds anyway ).

its probably your tires, my tread was bad on my front wheels and it started to vibrate in the steering wheel at highway speeds

no, it wasn't the tread on my tires. they still have plenty of tread on them. but the back ones are close to being done. that just gives me an excuse to get rims and tires. anybody have a suggestions for tires. they would mostly be in dry conditions most of the year, but need good traction when wet? i want to get 17's

vibrations @ low speeds and high speeds = out of round tires or bent rims
vibrations only @ highspeeds = out of balance
pulling = uneven treadwear or alignment
vibration while braking = warped rotor (most likely)
btw i work in a tire shop and these are the common problems i hear about. o yeaa a lot of times when u get a rotation ur rear tires are out of balance so when they are put on the front ur getting a vibrations
