I now have a low IDLE

Yesterday I installed a hyperground system on my OZ. Today when I went to work I noticed that my idle was down around 500 RPM. Occasionally sitting at stop lights the idle will spike even lower and cause the car to almost stall.

I did a search and could find what I was looking for.

Should I adjust the Idle up? If so how?

if you unhooked your battery for a while to do this mod.... you just reset your ECU. When you plug your battery back in... Your ECU learns how your car drives... u'll experience a low idle or your car sometimes will sound like its going to cut off.. but its all part of it's learning process and it will be back to normal after an hour of driving

Might take a bit longer, so don't feel bad. Mine took a day or two of driving to get back to normal.

Thanks for the insight. I have noticed as the day progressed the Idle is now up to about 700 RPM. It just caught me off guard to see it that low. I thought I might have done something wrong.

Well two days ahave past and the RPM's are still around 500 with an occasional rise to 700. Has anyone heard of disconnecting the neg battery terminal and then pressing the brakes for 20-25 seconds to reset the computer. One of the guys at work told me about that. He says that just disconnecting the neg bat terminal does not reset the computer totally.

what 2 body points are you grounding at? the one on the tb won't really be needed since you have a ground on the IM, unless you're grounding the TB or IM to the firewall. in which case i'd ground the IM to the firewall. the valve cover shouldn't be grounded since no sensor uses the valve cover to ground to.

The 2 body points are the stock one next to the battery and that all alone bolt on the top of the firewall behind the engine.

i have this same problem and i have no (engine) mods to my car. it idles so low it doesnt even warm up the interior no matter if it runs for an hour it stays cold till i rev it up (drive around).
the engine will get warm but at 400-500 rpm there isnt enough heat or coolant circulation to warm up the heater core or keep the battery charged. i dont relly wanna start playig with teh set screws i think the computer should be able to manage idle right?
thanks

Man I have a severly low Idle and I havent even reset the ecu yet? btw when do they replace the plugs? I think my car might need a severe tune up.

Ever since I received it from special order with only 2 miles on it I have driven it like I was racing in the WRC. I guess the car is used to being drove this way, but could I need a tuneup?

I have idled down to 500 and it sounded like it had almost died so I panicked and clipped the accelarator and hopped it up to 2300 rpm.

I appreciate anyone who can help out with some advice.

btw it now has 42k miles on it and I have owned it since jan 2001.

Thanks

What is the best IDLE for out cars anyway??? Mine is at 700rpm.
When you guy hook up your grounding kits make sure not to play with the valve cover screws. They are supposed be tightened only so much. Somewhere in this forum there is an answer to that.
