Lancer Fart?
My old Pontiac Sunfire used to do that to smelt like sulfur or rotten eggs at stop light it only happened when id rev higher than 3000 rpms. I heard from someone that it would be either carbon deposits in the CAT or a fault O2 sensor. But its definately not riding the clutch i learned to drive standard in my sunfire and it didnt start for about a year and a half later...
anyways best bet is to ask a mechanic and get it looked at sooner than later just in case...

All I can say is that the clutch riding seems to be the most probable. But whenever I dump my clutch it doesn't smell like anything. I had that fishy smell when my car was new, but now there's no smell whatsoever, and I drive my car pretty hard. It could be something on your engine, like if you degreased it with a cheap degreaser. Or it could be some type of a leak. A header leak perhaps? What mods do you have on your car?

I got my Lancer ES in Automatic (Unfortunately) a few days ago and I've also experienced the sweet, sensuous smell of my car farting. Is it just because it's a new car and such? Will the smell go away eventually? I only drive up to around 2500 RPM also.
Well, the smell is most likely not coming from my clutch. I can be on the freeway in fifth, floor it and maybe after 30 sec of WOT I'll slow down and the smell appears. I haven't degreased my engine bay and I don't have any loose trash burning anywere. I suppose it could be a header leak. Awhile back the mounts to my muffler broke and aside from melting a nice hole in my bumper I guess it could have crack some piping somewhere, I'll have to check that next.
