Help..I need advice on a repair problem
Hello
I am new here but I have a repair problem and would like some advice.
I was heading to a party on Friday, and since it was out of town I needed to go down some backroads. Now the main roads in Alberta are pretty good this year no snow or ice, but the back roads are a little less favorable. I was driving and hit a nice big patch of ice, unable to stop I drove into a ditch, everyone was ok but the Lancer didn't come out to well. The hit left the front bumper quite cracked, and left the back bumper loose and the tail light case was cracked.
I have already popped the back bumper into place, so all I need to do is fix the front bumper and the tail light case. My question is should I forgo the repairs to the front bumper and order a Evo 7 bumper or another bumper. get the current repaired or remolded, or wait till summer. A friend of mine says he can get a friend he knows to fix it himself but do I take the risk of getting the front bumper remolded by a non professsional.
I am confused since this is my first new car and I have never had any sort of problem as this
If anyone can give me some advice I will be more then happy to hear it?
my car is a 2003 lancer OZ rally edition.
thanks in advance

I can tell you that OEM replacement parts are going to be more expensive then an aftermarket replacement. What you have to look at is how long you plan on keeping the car... Aftermarket parts don't always help resale value, and often beg the question, "Where's the stock part?" Which you in turn must answer, It's broken, wrecked, etc...
If you're looking at this car as something to keep for a short time, aka get more than a 2-3k on a trade at some point, I suggest getting the front bumper repaired to OEM specifications... Remold or replace, that's up to you... If you watch on E-Bay, you may be able to find a wrecked one being parted out, that might save you some cash... Someone on the forum may have an OEM that they're willing to part with as well...
Hope this Helps.

This doesn't belong in Evo General at all.
If you want OEM stlye replacements try htp://www.erebunicorp.com. They have aftermarket OZ kits for lack of a better way of putting it. If you want a different body kit then...well, now's the time to get one.

I think it all comes down to whether or not you plan on keeping the car and doing other mods to it. If so, time to call insurance and get a body kit. If not, time to call insurance and get a repair job.
