So the problem went away when trying to find out what it is huh! well i want mine to do that and i wouldn't worry about it. we should try to get a petition or something and make mitsubishi find out what the problem is. The manager that i spoke with told me that alot of these cars make this noise and that it is common. I told him to show me another and well they sure didn't. I am really not impressed with mitsubishi service. I am waiting until my cars warranty is out before i take things into my own hands, i believe it is a valve spring that is week. I don't know

I am not impressed with mitsu service either. They are not interested in anything, don't want to help, don't want this, that. Pretty soon I will be swaping my pistons maybe during the install we will see if it is a valve spring or something else.

has anyone found out yet?? I have the same sound, I am here in VA, did not go to the dealer yet so I do not know how the service is. The noise I hear happenes right under 2000RPMs at parked and slow driving then it goes away. I have roughly 29K on my car. I also have another noise AT idle at the manifold area, a ticking. Does anyone get that??

As far as the ticking that it is making after shut down, everymotor gets that. It is cooling down that is the noise. I have had all of my cars or trucks do that. Very common.

all u guys with rattles........if you have exhaust, and even sometimes if you dont.......the tone from the system makes things vibrate in the cab or close to the cab. My speakers sound blown when im at 2500-3000 rpm because of the tone reverberating from the system......

if you dont have exhaust, my first guess would be to check all the bolts on your exhaust / manifold. If you have a leak (even a small one) you will get odd noises due to throttle. If that is not the case, it could be something in the internals....like maybe your rocker arms or springs and such...but i wouldnt bet on it unless you have driven your call through hell and back. Chances are it is exhaust vibration that is shaking something that is slightly lose. that seems to be the case in my experience when you get a rattle at a certain rpm.

does it do it when the car is at a stand still and u jsut rev in nuetral? does it have to be in gear? does it do it in gear with cluth pressed? what about WOT (because that would change the exhaust tone as well....esppecially if you have an intake or exhaust system aftermarket).....

IT does it no matter what! in nutral, with the clutch in and while i'm driving. So i also took it to a shop and they told me that it wasn't the exhaust and told me that it was somewhere in the motor but they don't do motors. So then what?

I also said that i thought it was my valves or springs. If you were reading what i alsready posted. And my car is bone stock.

I have also noticed that the drivers side is lower, even if you measure the distance, it seems to squat on that side. I though maybe blown shocks, or maybe b/c the tranny is on that side
