Angry Suspension Problems

So I went out to my car yesterday and noticed the left rear was noticeably lower than the rest of the car. I jacked the car up to see if i could see any problems but everything looked fine. When i lowered the car it seemed to settle better but that corner is still lower than the rest of the car. As an after thought, I realized that last weekend, despite the horrible weather, I went out to Cooperstown, NY to the Baseball Hall of Fame. On the way back the car started bouncing horribly, but beccause of all the snow there was no shoulder for me to pull over on. When i finally came to a gas station about 40 miles later, I found a rather large hunk of ice and snow stuck to the inside of my left rear rim. I got it all out and when i went back on the road the car was fine. Do you think that driving for so long could have ruined that strut? If not what else might it be? I have an appointment with my local mitsu dealer for monday. In the meantime i was supposed to go home for the weekend to see my girlfriend and get the hell away from my roommate, but now I am stuck. Any help would be much appreciated.

Eric

The bouncing and such came from the balance issue caused by the ice in the rim.

You said that the car was lower though, that sounds wierd. I am not too familiar with the exact suspension but if it is a little lower on one side, without something heavy in the trunk, it should be looked at.

Keep in mind that in extremely cold weather "things" in general do not perform well. Especially moving parts. I notice that when my car is outside over night when I first pull off my suspension is extremely hard. Over a min or two it gets better.....

After notcing the problem i checked tire pressure and took the car on the highway. After the drive it was still screwy at which point i jacked it up, so i dunno.
