One way you could have avoided this entire mess is to slow down. In the rain, you should never be so close to the car ahead of you so that if they swerve you have no chance to react. If you had been traveling slower than what I assume, you would have seen this other car swerved, and you would have had the chance to slowdown. Hindsight is 20/20, but I hope you learn something from this. Remember people. its not always the cars fault.

Uranium, nice tip on the quick "fuse" ecu reset. Very cool

Score, hindsight is 20/20. Very easy to say "bla bla bla" but it is not helping his situation, is it?

Lets get on the same page when someone asks for help. He is confiding in us for info, not to get ridiculed.

One love...

I say, reset ur car to "stock" (remove all engine mods) and take it straight to the dealer and act dumb. If you reset ur ECU the CEL might shut off and the dealer will say "That's normal, see... the Check Engine Light isnt even on". I got screwed like that countless times, I learned my lesson not to reset the ECU unless it was 100% necessary.

If there really is a problem then the CEL will come back on shortly. I wouldn't be too concerned about that.

oh boy hydrolock..many many things can happen to you car when you get this.

make sure your MAS is dry and intact. you should be able to see the small air detector right after the honeycomb mesh. make sure its still there. make sure the mesh is straight. water is forcefull and can bend the mesh making the airflow not straight.

make sure your filter is dry, the piping is dry, TB dry.

also the water running through the exhaust will damage your O2 sensors. you might have to get new ones.

reset your ECU and see what that does. the CEL light will come back on if there is a problem.

um...change the oil...thats a good idea.

the worst of the worst is bent valves/guides, cracked pistons/block from rapid cooling by the water....good luck.

*gulp* i thought i had everything under control until zlancer threw in all those possibilities.

bottom line though, thanks everyone for the input. i ran the engine hard for a few moments yesterday and i think i blew out all the water... anyway, after that, i reset the ECU, gave it 15 minutes to readjust, and now everything's working the way it should. i'll be careful for the next few days and watch for that light to come back on, but i think i may be in the green. i will go get my oil changed too, i was about due.

peace out lancer peepz. once again, thanks for the quick support.

I agree hindsight is 20/20, as I mentiond that already in my post. I was just hoping he learned something from this experience.
