Aem Intake Problems

i just installed an aem cold air intake in my 2002 OZ Rally Lancer....but when i plug in the maf senser into the maf itself it runs like crap(can i say crap on here...what ever) i tried to drive it about 30 miles to reset the computer but it not reseting... i know that the new upper pipe makes it so that the maf is farther away from the block and that is why when i plug it in it feels like my engine isn't getting enough air...but when i unplug the maf it runs like a champ....but(yes another but) the check engine light stays on...now is there any way other then sticking black tap over the check engine light so that i can plug in maf senser and have the computer except it....

1. double check all of your connections, make sure your hose clamps are tight and everything is properly installed facing the right direction
2. disconnect your negative battery terminal and let it hang for a short while (this is what resets the ecu
3. fire it up and let it idle for about 10 minutes or so. after that you should be good to go, it will take a while for the ecu to "learn" the new intake but it should still run fine

if this doesn't work, i don't know what the beef is. what other mods do you have?

did you run your car idle for 15 minutes after you plugged your battery back up?

Your intake should look like this setup. Notice the direction of my MAF.

Yeah it can be rotated. I like mine like this - the wires are hidden.
