AC knob backlight problem

the problem i'm having is that the left side of the ac knobs are dimmed, and it's easy to tell at night. sorry the picture is not dark or else it'd show better, damn flash...... I'm wondering if it's just the light bulb on the left side that's out, the very left knob (the red/blue one) do not light up at all, the middle knob lights up half of the right side, and the very right knob is fine. Can anyone tell me how to fix this and where to get the necessary parts for it?

did you happen to paint over the section that is supposed to illuminate on the knob itself?? if not then pull out the knobs and take of the cover. turn the car on so that the lights go on and see if the bulb illuminates or not. there is a plastics piece in there that is supposed to sread the light around the cluster evenly. if a light is out though, you will be able to see.

i didn't paint anything but the knobs itself, which don't light up. It's the circular part around the left side knobs like the max ac/blue/red parts that's supposed to light up but aren't. And also around the middle knob the off/1 and half of 2 don't light up, then it slowly dims. so i figure the light bulb behind the left side is out.

sounds like the bulb is out then. just take the knobs off and remove the screws, then pop the panel off (there should be a few clips holding it on along with the screws), and then replace the bulbs.
