Is the car all the way warmed up?

Plus...to top it off...2k isnt even in the powerband yet...if you have your pedal to the floor at 2K, then it could just be that its lacking air to mix with all the fuel

HITS 2k rpms? It's probably because you're driving in the sluggish part of the powerband. If you're shifting that low, chances are that's the cause itself. Driving under 2k is like pure economy driving. Don't expect any power out of the car that low in the revs.

EDIT: And if it's that low and you floor it, chances are you're just bogging the engine, forcing it to run entirely too rich.

I jsut think that you arent putting enouhgt mmmph into it. If youre shifting at 2k rpm...your lucky you arent stalling, and probably putting undo wear on your clutch

I don't think wear would be an issue, but you're barely driving at 2k rpms...seriously. I mean, you're REALLY running close to stalling under 2k and if you floor it or give it too much gas you WILL bog it with the excess fuel.

Yes.

No.

The RPMs you SHIFT at and the RPMs your CRUISE at generally aren't the same things. If you don't plan on accellerating then driving low in the revs saves gas. If you need to go forward quickly then you're a fool to drive so low or not downshift first.

Definitly.

Since day 1 i never shifted before 3K...that way when you get into your next gear... you should be above 2K...probably about 2300... I personally (in normal driving) shift at 3500.... you dont ge3t inot the powerband real good untill about 3300 or so...

long ans short of it : shift a bit later

Seriously. I don't ever shift below 3000 either, and most of the time its goes 1-2-5. (Its not speeding, its getting to 5 over the speedlimit as FAST as you FREAKING CAN!)
