Filter came off! Oops!

so its time to change my oil. i open my hood and guess what... my filter isnt attached. the problem is i have no clue how long i've been running without the filter . is this going to cause any effects? btw the clamp was tight, because i couldnt put the filter back on without losening the screw.

Before I saw the image, I thought you were saying your OIL filter was not attached...and asking if it was going to cause problems.

Unless you were out kickin' it in dirty/dusty conditions, you should be okay. Make sure it doesn't happen again.

u have nothin to worry about the same thing happened to me, my cel came on and i figured that it was my o2 sensor so i didnt worry. I drove like that for a long time b4 i noticed what it was. after 8,000 miles so far no probs.

My whole damn SRI fell off a few months ago. Car doesnt run too well with out it.
