Has anyone else broken the locking ring for their headlamp?

I went to replace my headlamp while I was visiting in St. Louis and when I pulled the lamp out of the connector the locking ring came with it.... Even though the locking ring wasn't damaged I had to drive back to Indianapolis that night so I tried to push the ring back over the connector and it shattered the inside of it. It keeps the lamp in place (it's a little offset but not bad) but it doesn't twist-lock into place, it just spins. Anyone know about getting a replacement part, what is required to replace it, etc? Also if you'd like to see what else is wrong with my car go here:

Thanks for your help!

Wish I could help you dude. Call the dealer, that's your best bet. It's practically difficult to find parts for our cars. OH, run a search, i think i found a thread regarding a new site that sells OEM parts for our cars.

I hate that twisty thing on the head-lights. I always have a hard time twisting it back into place.

if you look on the back of the headlamp there is a little ball-tipped thingy that pops into a little brace that holds the light in at the proper angle.....if that's what you are talking about, i snapped mine as well. i was hit in the front left fender by a pick up truck on my way to work. he crushed the fender, bent a very small segment of my door, and ultimately cracked the clip in the back of my headlamp. now the drivers side lamp doesn't 'lock' in place. they are uneven but i haven't felt like dealing with it just yet.

That is exactly how it is in my car, it was so cold outside when I changed the light when I tried to put the ring back on it broke the inside part of it. It looks like I'm going to have to trace the wire all the way back until it can disconnect somewhere else and reverse feed the new part up from that point.... ugggg

You shouldn't have to do all that. Mine came right off once I changed to my silverstars. I forgot to put it back on on my drivers side and put everything back together, noticed it was on the floor and was just like "Ah, damn!" Haven't put it back on yet. I wouldn't even worry about it, my lights don't get offset or anything and I beat the hell outta my car.
