Should i push for this to be fixed?
Should i push for this to be fixed?
Ive posted about this before, but im posting again because its really been bothering me as of late, and no one really gave me a clear answer before. I have a 2003 yelllow oz and there is a DISTINCTIVE difference between the color of the rear bumper, front bumper, and side skirts compaired to the color of the rest of the cars body. The bumpers etc are much darker than everything else. It is much more visible on a cloudier day where the sun is not shining well. When the sun is out bright its a bit harder to see. None the less its there, Now I called the dealer once and they told me it doesnt match because the bumper is polyurethen... now i dont buy this at all, I know i could take it to a shop and have them paint it to match, I bought a lighting yellow OZ not a lightning two tone yellow OZ. The dealer told me to bring the car down to compair to one they had in stock and that id see they are all like that. Well i look at pictures of people who have yellow OZ's on this forum.. and i dont see this problem. Unless the camera just hides it well. At any rate Does anyone think i could get them to repaint? Thanks for input and sorry for the long winded post.
Can anyone else with a yellow OZ confirm whether or not they have a noticable color differnce?
and im not talking about the fading paint that some people have complained about.. im talking about a color difference right from the dealership. Unfortunatly my car was delivered to me because i ordered it, i never actually saw it until the day it arrived, and i was so exciting i didnt really notice the color difference then

I've seen it before. Someone explained on another thread that since the parts are painted in different sections, with different paint batches, they sometimes don't match. The only problem I see would be, they'll ask why you bought it in the first place. I would say to them, It is supposed to match. Fix it.
I would say get it repainted...you basically have to be an ******* to the dealer to get them to fix it....if they still wont do it, contact mitsu themselves.....and even maybe threaten a law suit, if it's possible

My paint guy told me that plastic and metal simply show colors differently. He showed me several cars, incl. a white civic and a black somthing or other with a body kit and in all the cases the plastic color was slightly different from the metal color.
The differences were slight in these cars, on mine I thought it was more pronounced, maybe a factory error. Then I looked at my aftermarket OEM style spoiler- that yellow matched the yellow of the other plastic parts and had the same mis-match as the metal parts. I think it has to do with the basecoats and how they let the paint absorb/reflect light

It just seems really ridiculous to me, especially when ive seen other yellow lancers that DO match. I wont accept the theory that they cant make it match because of different materials. With todays technology... matching paint shouldnt be THAT difficult, i can understand and aftermarket job that is painting a body kit or something possibly not matching.. but when it comes from the factory it should match and if it doesnt they should fix it.
