i need help!!! everytime i turn my car on. the trip gauge resets its self back to 0.0 and i have no idea why. my doors wont unlock/lock unless the car is already on. and my dome light wont work any more. ive check the fuse for the dome light and it is fine and i put in a new bulb. anyone have any suggestions on what might be wrong?!?!?!?!?

 

Does your car have any sort of aftermarket electronics? If so, definitley check those out...If it doesn't have any aftermarket and is still under waranty, just take it to your dealer!

 

Try reseting the negative battery terminal and let us know.

the only thing that is after market on the car is the system. the cd player has been acting funny. it would cut on and off for no reason(like if the wire was not fully connected, but it is).

by resting the negative terminal. you mean unplug it and plug it back up? all this started to happend about a week after i got a new battery from walmart. (its not an optima or anything like that)

 

o, i also took out my entire system and it still does it

 

Three days ago the same thing happened to my car. No dome light clock don't work no power locks with the key off trip odemeter resets everytime the key is turned off and radio is dead. Again all fuses are working and I don't have service manuel to check what relays control what. I beleive it's probably a bad relay considering all stopped working at the sametime and the fuses are good. So if anyone has any ideas or a layout for the relays please let us know. Oh and my car is not under warrenty so taking it to the devil is not an option unless all else fails.

wow, now i'm curious, just for future sake

 

i think my problem is my battery isnt holding power/sucks donkey *****. all my problems started after i put in a new battery from wal-mart.(i think its actually smaller than my stock one)i think its the battery just because when i put in a cap for my system. everything works fine(except the dome, but i think that bulb is dead). when i get some extra cash im going to get an optima yellow top. and see if that was the problem.

 

Figured out what was wrong with my car finally. The wrap on my yellow power wire to my radio had come off and was causing it to ground out and blow the fuse under the hood in the funny looking yellow housing in the fuse box. Rewrapped the wire checked all the other wires and no problems since then.
