So yesterday I'm shifing and my sifting feels in precise/ sloppy. Everytime I put it into a gear it feels like it isn't fully engaging. So today I back my car up and when I go to put it in first the sifter moves but the gear is still stuck in reverse. I try to put the shifter back in the reverse gear but it just moves back and forth. So I get out of my car and I have to have my girlfriend hold the clutch down while I push the car into the parking spot.

I thought it was one of the linkages but the links are are intact and fine. What the hell is going on?

I have a short shifter and aftermarket bushings if that helps. I called a mechanic and he says it doesn't sound like a transmisison or a clutch problem. There has been no slipping of the clutch at all so that's not it. I have a Works stage 1 clutch on my car that I had replaced about six months ago.

possibly something in the aftermarket shifter or clutch was installed wrong or was faulty ?
