Question Problems with Deyeme motor mounts???

Well i bought the Deyeme Racing motor mounts and installed them this week. The installation was pretty easy and only took 2 hours, for both the front and rear, from the moment i put the jack under the car to the time i was test driving it. The response from the car is much better than with the stock mounts, but there is some vibration due to the hard mounts. I haven't done any other mods to the car yet so i really got an idea of how well they increase power to the wheels. My baby peels out no problem now, with no wheel hop!!!

On the other side of things, 2 days after I installed them, the vibration got worse and my front bumper, and all hoses/lines in the engine bay vibrate terribly now due to the mounts. I was wondering if anyone else has installed these and had any problems like this. It was weird that it just started a couple days after the install. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Firm mounts I'm guessing?

I've been sans car for some time now. I'll let you know on Friday night if I'm around to post.

EDIT: BTW, my thinking is something may be loose. You may wanna check that all bolts are properly torqued and that nothing's shifted.

I have been delinquent on my review sorry. The vibrations.... Well at first I thought it was gonna shake me out of the goddamed car at idle. I was really annoyed. The solution is make sure your vehicle is running properly. My car was idling funny. Funny like at about 500 RPMs which is too low and makes the car shake to beat hell. All I did was get some decent gas, changed the oil, pulled the plugs out and cleaned them (only because I was cleaning the plugs for my bike at the same time, I doubt this helped only 12,000 on them) and now the car has been idling fine and the awful vibration is gone.

lanceritiz: don't really want to take them off after the nticable difference in launch power

andrew: they are the firm ones, i wonder how much different the soft ones would be. i checked to see if anything was loose and notta, all bolts were nice and tight.

airline: my car is nearly brand new with only 2500 miles on it and it ran perfectly smooth before the mounts went in so i don't think it is running poorly. it usually sits around 650 or 700 RPM unless i've been driving for a while and sometimes that will drop to 600, but never below that.

If the car is brand new yet, I swear to **** it is the gas you are using. Any, and I mean any, rough running will make the car shake to beat hell with firm mounts. There is only one gas station in town where I live that has a decent 87 that makes my vehicles ide right. I suggest you ask around and find an independant station with good 87. FYI I get my gas from Fleet Farm or Farm and Fleet if you are from Wisconsin.

sweetoz: if you don't mind the vibration then they definitely help get all the power to the ground

airline: i kinda doubt that i had bad gas, but just to make sure i filled up today at the station around my house that has never given me problems with poor gas before, so we'll see how that goes

Well I dont know what to tell you Dr. Crash, the mounts only go in one way if there arent any extra bolts then you did it right. I maintain the only thing it can be is your car is running rough, there is no slack or give in the mounts to absorb any significant vibration now. One other thing comes to mind and that is, unless it isnt listed, you dont have an intake or exaust like I do. I dont recall the car running any different when I added this stuff but it may be a big enough difference to where we are comparing apples to oranges.

you could be right there man. i will be getting an intake and exhaust very soon, since school is over for another year and i'm working full time again!! i think for right now till i get those parts i may just bring the idle up to about 700 or 750 RPM since it only vibrates really bad at 600.

thanx to all for the feedback!

i remember the vibration when the car was in gear and idling was too much, if im idling at a stop light in neutral the vibration tends to settle, as soon as its in gear and moving the vibration goes away. it is only when the car is in gear and idling where everything up front shakes.

You're probably idling too low an the car is looking to die because the ECU hasn't adjusted yet. I'm assuming this happens mostly on cold or rainy/humid days? If you don't have the DMR motor mounts I'd suggest making your OWN thread though.

I recommend just using the solid mount in the front and leaving the rest stock. That is what i did. Got a little vibration but hardly enough to make me worry....more like i know the car is running now where before i couldn't tell other than by rpms. Also i have no wheel hop. Seems the front mount being firm ensures there is no play on up/down forces and the rear just squats in while launching hard. I thought this would be the case after looking at the mounts and it worked out to be correct. Deyemme made a good product. Two firms on this car is just to much... use the front only and you'll see what i mean!
