Need guru help on power steering

So my power steering has been completley replaced and now my power steering sensor is out.

You see, on our cars there is a pressure sensor that detects when you turn. So when you turn it kicks in your power steering. Its supposed to save gas while doing highway driving and while driving fast. Thats why your car will rev up a little when you are in park and you turn the wheel.

Anyways my sensor is out and I need a new one but where is the thing located? I really miss my power steering.

Does someone have a shop manual?

Most manufactures put the sensor in the pump itself. It should be threaded in there.
It's possible that they forgot to plug it in
.

No, the pressure switch is connected and everything. This is a used pump so maybe I need to replace it, again. Thanks for the help.

here's a picture i found of the pump from CAPS.

they didn't have a listing for any sensors on the diagram though. still got the old pump? maybe look around on there for something that looks electrical, that could at least help when it comes to finding the thing.

okay, i just checked out my pump on my car and i snapped a picture of what has to be the sensor. it looks like the only electrical connector coming from the pump. sorry the picture looks like ***, i used my phone.

it looks like something you could just grab with a wrench and twist it in/out. be careful though because it looks like it might be plastic and not metal.

I tried to remove it earlier but fluid started comming out cause the pump is lower than the resivior.

Are you talking about the black connector on the top? The #1 on my picture?

yeah, the #1.

i can imagine you would lose fluid... i'd probably follow the procedures for doing a power steering fluid flush. if you don't have to worry about air getting into the system just drain out as much as you need to to get that sensor in and then refill, but if air will be an issue you might as well drain the whole system.
