it just sounds like a big wooosshhh to me so you prolly got a diff problem.. do you have an aftermarket intake, if so have someone shut off your car for you while youre standin in front of it with the hood up, thatll tell you if its the intake......

My RMR intake makes a grinding type of noise when I turn the car off, and my friend's Lancer (with the same intake) dos the same thing. Did your grinding noise start shortly after installing the intake? Best way to figure it out is to have someone else turn the car off while you're standing in front of the engine with the hood up. That's how my friend and I determined for sure.

flop the intake tube up and down. If it touches anything than use some kind of heat resistant tape so it does'nt rattle. I took my car to the dealership b/c i thought something was grinding when all it was, was the intake hitting on a piece of metal.

i think all cai's seem to do this. think of making the noise into a tube, and then listen to it again. that is exactly the sound it makes.
