lifter noise??

i am sure this has be mentioned before but i searched and couldnt find it....do all the new lancers have that ticking noise which i am guessing is the lifters....is that noise gonna go away?? or is that just the way this engine is suppose to sound...i am not to worried about it becuase you cant hear in the car and barley outside the car if at all the only time i can hear it is when the hood is open...i just want to make sure its not a problem that i am gonn ahve to get looked at by the way my car has 2400km already so i would figure if it was gonna go away it would have already

My Car is super quiet when idling I am presently at 2200Km The only tick I heard was the solenoids opening when I put the car to On before I start the engine. I will check if that noise you mentioned is there.

If it's a DSM, it'll have noisy lifters! LOL Try different oil weights to see what might quiet it down a little...

All aluminum engine plus water-like oil weight minus sound dampening covers equals louder engine noise. Reminds me of motorcycle engines.

Never heard any.

The 4G94 was notorious for that, but I haven't heard about the 4B11 having that problem...

I've got that too.. the salesman told me it had something to do with the anti-theft - does it go away at some time??? I find it kinda loud, and it sound like if something was wrong.. anybody else?

He's speaking Japanese and just explaining some things about the new Lancer.

I don't think there's much worry about lifter ticking. It's not like a time bomb or anything and all of us with 4G94 have survived with it.
