I have had my car for about a month and a half, and just last night I popped the hood on my friends Lancer (08, also a ds) and she has this plastic engine cover. I don't have an engine cover, and I am wondering if I am supposed to, and if so, how do I get it from the dealer, just go tell them?

 

My DE is also missing the engine cover. I really wish I had one! When I go into the dealer to get my spoiler mounted, I am going to ask them about this.

 

From what i know the DE does not come with one unless you ask for it. Could be wrong but thats what the dealer i got mine from told me

 

So the DE is not supposed to have one? that would pretty much suck IMO

 

It's just a cover... *shrug*

If you care about having one, ask your dealer. If need be, demand it based on the fact that it's a part that your car was supposed to have. Don't take no for an answer. Etc.

 

My neighbor got a DE recently and it came with the cover (He didn't ask for it specifically). Make sure you get it .

 

the es's come with them. not sure why the DE's wouldnt, money saving technique?

It looks kinda ugly, un-thought out, like they expected to put a cover on it. The dealer told me that the DE dose not come with it, but I can get one for "cheap" parts wasnt open when I was there, so I need to get the price.

 

Its not a big deal. It only is good to have if you want to paint it to make it look better. It serves no purpose, but you should get it if you paid for it.
