that goes to the other side of your fuel tank.... buschur has a few comments about what that does somewhere in their double or triple fuel pump posts. Nothing to worry about for you in either case
if you dont have that black rubber piece under your pump, i guarantee thats the problem

will that little black piece keep it from working because i didn't have it on because the pump was different on the bottom and the bottom plastic piece didn't click back on

yes it will... because the pump even though it looks like it, doesnt seat all the way and you dont get a good seal. use your stock one if you have to, make it fit..... you need that to help it seal

NO.... you have to have that plastic piece under the pump or it WONT seal. You will either need to buy a install kit, fab some piece of something to put underneath the pump to help keep it sealed. The reason the car turned over once is because it was trying to crank with the remaining fuel in the line.... im guessing you didnt pull the relay fuse with the car running and then crank it a few times after it died to help run all the fuel out of the line.

No I didn't do that but I put the black piece back on and still nothin but I dont think the batt is getting any juice because after I charge it and put on the positive and then just touch the negative it doesn't spark

He installed everything back right? If there even fuel in the tank? Does the car have power at all, why would his battery be dead after a fuel pump install? Is everything on tightly and securely?

everything in the car works like radio and all that but its still the stock battery about 2 years old and there's fuel in the tank and everything is secure so I'm gonna buy a stronger batt and see if it makes a difference cause it might be a dead cell in the battery
