Wheel lock...

Turn the wheel a bit to the right/left and try taking your keys out and turning them.

You'll need to put a German Shepherd in the driver's seat while you're here posting, for one...

I can help! Where abouts do you live? LOL

You didn't understand Yimke's stmt, turn the steering wheel (both to the right and left) while trying to remove the keys.

lol it didnt work i just went out there and tried it again. It has to do something with the shifter because i dont have to put my foot on the break nor press the button to go from park to drive or any other switching

my girlfriend has this problem with her grand prix--GM has a mechanism built in to the steering column for when their ****ty electrical system fails on their cars.

check around to see if there is anything like this on your car... it's a little trap door on the underside of the steering wheel. there should be a button way up inside that you can push.

otherwise put the car in neutral and then put it back in park. do this without the car running to see if it will release the key... try it running if it does not work the first time. once you get the key out spray some graphite in the lock and HOPEFULLY you won't have the problem again.

i believe the part that fails on GMs is called the shift lock solenoid--i am not %100 on that since the extent of my involvement with my girlfriend's problem was me listening to her because she's a woman and she just wanted someone to talk to about the problem and doesn't really want it fixed.

You're right, you cannot eject the key w/o it in Park. So fix whatever shifter problem you have a go from there.

Good luck!
