touch up paint

So I got my first stone chip and got the touch up paint pen from the dealership.. 1 side paint for touch up and the other side clear coat.

Problem is the paint doesn't stick!! I've shook the pen rigorously and doesn't seem to help. I've applied and let it dry for 1day even and still don't stick. when I go to apply the clear coat the paint coat just comes off. Even if I don't apply the clear coat the paint just comes off if I rub it. Wtf?!???!

Anyone have this issue? I'm starting to think it's the Pen.

Is it chilly? Maybe it's too cold and you need to lightly warm it with a blowdryer?

Those pens suck! Get the touch-up bottle with the "nail brush" applicator. ^Try what he said and somehow "ruff up" the application area if possible...

try sanding it a little:

remove dirt
sand
remove dust/dirt again
apply one very thin coat with a brush, wait for dry
apply another layer
apply another layer.. etc repeat until your satisfied or the layer is slightly above your undamaged paint
sand it a bit more
polish it
clear coat

^^^ above is just an idea of what to do; it's not a formal how-to-do instruction. but i used this method and it worked well for me. i learned this from detailing websites, which are all over the internet. try searchign and it'll teach you the proper way of fixing chips.
