Clutch pedal adjustment?

My clutch pedal more then exceeds the .2 to .5 inch amount of play the manual says is normal. Just recently last 3 days maybe? I have had difficulty shifting into first and reverse when just starting the car and down shifting for the first few miles. I have to really push the pedal to the floor to get a smooth shift. Tonight on the way home from work it was extremely bad

How do I go about adjusting the play? I'm taking it to the dealership tomorrow but I want to be able to safely drive it there as well.

btw, fluid is at correct level and I could find no leaks or signs of leaks near or around any hoses coming from the ressy area.

thanks

anyone?

is this more then just a "Pedal" adjustment? They are making me come in tomorrow since they couldn't see me today... I'd like to go armed with more then..

"umm sure, replace the engine if you need too... "

=)

Found out this was a leak actually from a hole in a boot that was somewhere around a slave pump and was there from the factory.

The car drives completely different now and I'll have to get used to it again. Now the clutch actually works. The first time I got in it. I thought it was busted since I let up and didn't go anywhere... hehe.. but now the clutch grabs in the first inch of pressure..
