AUX problem
some of the songs i play through my ipod on my "08 gts with sun and sound package are muffled and scratchy. I have songs on my ipod that are bought from itunes, burn from cds, and downloads. However, it is not just one kind of song that is sounding muffled and scratchy. It is not just downloaded songs, but also songs that have been bought on itunes as well. I have a Dynex adapter cord from Best Buy. Do I need to buy the ipod cable that is offered through the mitsubishi website, get a more expensive cable, or am I just out of luck?? Anyone else have this same problem?? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I want to use the 650w system to its full capacity.
What volume do you have your iPod set to? You need to set the iPod volume to somewhere between 50 and 75 percent (then use the car stereo to actually control the volume of the music you hear). Otherwise it distorts the signal. I had mine on 100% and everything sounded crappy until I figured out the problem.
go in your ipod and set volume limit to 75% as the above user stated. Anything above will get clipped.
Is your Dynex cable just a straight forward Y cable? If so it should be fine, don't get the Mitsu cable.

I've the same "issue" but I'm using a cable connected by the dock port which splits to Audio RCA and S-Video. Some of the songs sound crappy, some other not. I'll try this, but I was in the understanding that using the Dock port, will use the "best" volume to transmit.
ya i have been having the same problem too, i even forked up the extra money for a monster cable, but didnt do anything. but i will try the volume thing. i also think that transmitting from the dock port gets the best sound too.
I had the same problem when I first got the iPod Touch. Old iPod was adjusted to 75% volume and it sounded fine. When I first hooked up the Touch it was all distorted and sounded like crap. Finally remembered about the volume adjustment, changed it and it worked fine.

what if we use an ipod power adaptor that has a headphone jack on it thus getting the sound out of the dock, has anybody tried one of those? i used to have one of those, but it was stolen out of my old truck, and was wondering, because i was thinking of getting another one (if it works).

That said, I have 2 of these devices. A belkin one and another one i forgot the brand. Long story short, the belkin one is usable because it has a dial to adjust line out volume. If it's too loud, it distorts. If it's too soft you can hear lots of static. The belkin is usable because you can find an 'okay' grey area. The other plug I have sucks because it has two settings. Loud and soft. Loud makes the audio distorted and soft puts too much static through.
Now the alternative is to take the fuse out (aka disabling the charging mechanism). I found that using the dock connector without touching the charger gives the same audio quality as the headphone jack.
I have 2 of them. Generally bad experiences. It's not the mitsu's fault since every car I've tried it in, anything plugged into the cig lighter will cause some static.
