I have a problem the same with my auto tranny. But when it does catch up, it's a hardcore JOLT, and man I get mad, lol. Think my tranny might be shot? (dumb question??? lol)

^Last weekend, I sat through an Episode of Muscle Car on Spike or something like that. The guy did a rebuild of an auto tranny, so I got a much better idea of how everything works in one. First off, when was the last flush you had done? Second, maybe try Seafoam. Third, someone suggested to clean out the egr valve.

Start with those...

Was it a US Lancer?... I did try some Seafoam, but no change. The tranny is a manual & shouldn't need a flush at only 59k miles. I also cleaned the EGr Valve & no change. I took my car to Aamco & they did a free diagnostic test on the tranny & didn't find anything wrong with the tranny or the hydrolic part of the clutch... so they suggested that I get the clutch replaced. So I'm going to try and adjust the clutch pedal to see if that might help & if it doesn't... Looks like it'll be time for a new clutch.

Dude seriously there is NOTHING ELSE that would cause that BUT a BURNT CLUTCH! My dealership only cost 650 to do clutch.

I believe you guys... I ordered a clutch & should be here friday. I'm going to try & change it myself & start on it this weekend. I will try & take pictures of the whole process & post for people like myself to reference, since I haven't been able to find that anywhere.

^Sweet, best of luck! And a word of advice, hire the services of someone to help out. A pizza, beer, etc goes a long ways!

My Best friend's family has an 03 OZ Rally Auto with like 107K. Anyways their tranny slips going 2-3 when you floor it. Well I had to drive the car 350 miles following them through some mountains in AZ-NM. Haha I was entertained at the slipping, its the only auto car I have ever seen that will go into the redline! But they did a flush right after that and it stopped slipping for about a month... So not sure a flush would do you any good, but its still good to get it done and extend the rest of its life!

Put the tranny on a floor jack and jack it up into position. Then wiggle it into place. Better to also have someone above to help out also.

Thanks... I got it back in. I tied a rope through two places on the tranny & wrapped another around the gearbox part & had a friend use them to guide it up in with the jack underneath. Worked pretty smooth just took a lot of wiggling but after about an hour, we got er bolted back on. I will post pictures maybe after the holidays on the whole process for those who are interested as well as a guide.

I now realized that the passenger side axle is not all the way in place. I only pulled the wheel assembly on the driver's side (cuz I don't have enough garage space to pull both). Any suggestions on how to get the axle all the way into the tranny. I'm pretty positive that the splines are lined up... I just can't get it to snap in there all the way. Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
