I figured it was one of three things…
1. what you said about the muffler
2. the suspension settling/locking back in place (because the car was lifted a few days before)
3. rims throwing weights (but i think it was too loud for that)

anyways…i’m not too concerned anymore…5/10 year warranty…w/e

I have exactly the same problem, when I make either a right or left turn slowly, I can hear that sound. I hightly doubt its because of the lowered spring, as people with stock setup are having the same problem, so I think its the cold.

Anyway, I'm bringing in my car to a local gargage tonite, and let them take a look into it. I will report back the result.

Mine still stock. Haven't noticed this sound but it's getting really cold here so I'll keep an ear out for it.

The guys inspected the suspension today, and he said nothing is wrong, it is just dry, and nothing to worry about...but our cars are all new though, how come the joints dried up so easily?

I asked him if I should lure the ball joints, and he said no, don't worry about it. I guess if its the weather thats causing this, luring won't cure the problem? I have no idea...

So we should just let it be and the noise will go away?

I have no clue...I guess we will find out if it was caused by the cold weather once winter is over

just back form the dealer and i was not the only person with this problem , they took a few lancers in for the exact same problem . It's the rubber boot/stopper on the shock that is too tigth and when it gets cold it shrinks even more causing the cracking sound . They took them off and made the hole a lil bigger and putted them back on .So far so good for me !

with all the weather being so warm i am sure its not caused by cold weather, but what triggers the sound for me is if I am making a hard left or right turn and go over bumps at the same time, I hear that sound. Confirmed
