Cracking suspension
Anyone still having this problem? Did it go away? Did you find an ultimate fix for it? I've got a stock '08 ES that is doing the same thing and has been for some 40k miles or so. Generally only noticeable when backing up turning to the right, but seeing that we are nearing the end of the warranty, I was curious if it was a larger issue or not.
Thanks in advance.

i don't know if it's the same problem with everyone on here but i got the same knocking sound when i turn at low speed (like coming out of a parking spot or backing out from a driveway etc) after i had my struts changed. it turns out the knocking sound was coming from the spring rotating and hitting the strut tray that is sitting on. (i think someone else on this thread had mentioned it) the mechanic was able to jack up my car and rotate the spring with his grip and i can see it was rotating and the end of the spring coil hitting the "stopper" on the tray in the strut. he says the top part is supposed to rotate with the turns but the bottom should be sitting securely on the struts.
the good thing is that it doesn't affect the drive or the components in any way except for the annoying sound when turning at low speed. the mechanic suggested to me to spot weld the bottom spring coil to the strut tray that is sitting on. i haven't done it yet but i'll keep you updated when i do.
