I've only had mine for about two weeks, but I haven't noticed anything like this and I've been driving it every day so I wouldn't think it's entirely related to the cold (or else it would probably do the same on the right side when turning left). I'd get it checked out.

I am getting the same sound to from front left had the car in the dealership once and they said it was dry and lubed it up and it stopped for about two weeks BUT now its starting all over again. Do all of us have are cars dropped or are some of you guys still stock? The weird thing is it only does it when I turn going striaght over bumps doesnt make a sound and dealership said it wasnt a blown strut so I am kinda lost but going to take my car bake in anyways.

I'm having a similar issue with my GTS. 100% stock, only 600 miles on it so far. It doesn't always happen, but usually when I haven't driven it for a few hours and I first put it in reverse and back up over a bump while turning the wheel it makes the sound out of the front right. It's loud enough to be alarming.

Sounds like the same problem the '02-'03 lancers had...I believe it was the spring simply not seated properly on the strut housing. Meaning, the very end of the spring didn't meet of the "notch" on the strut base; then every time it compressed or turned you heard a clunk or pop or something like that.

Good luck guys!

hey Scottarius, I have exact the same problem. Its only when I make I sharp right turn usually after backing out. I took my car to the dealer twice but the problem still exists.

I have a stock GTS with 9,000 miles on it, and I have also experienced this problem recently, that when making a right turn, I hear a crunch in my left front wheel.

It only happens on this one turn near my house occassionally, so I don't know what it is. When I bring my car to the dealership next time I'll probably have them check it out.

Yea same here. The noise usually is louder when the weather is cold and only when making a right turn for my car.

haha i felt like an ***, i pulled over twice to figure out if it was something in my trunk. it was so cold i almost froze my *** off. Then i thought it was my dual exhaust, but I know for a fact it doesnt move at all. the fitment is reinforced from multiple sides.

I only hear it when I take the turn really hard and agressive. I will look into it further but doesnt sound too bad that needs urgent fixing.

about two months ago i was driving on the highway and i heard a LOUD crunch/snap at the rear of my car…around the passenger side rear wheel well…i mean LOUD…
so i pulled over…couldn’t find anything…
got back on the highway…it did it again!...so i just continued to work hoping for the best after work on my way home, you guessed it, it happened again – so s drove straight to the dealer, they took it for a test drive with me (of course, nothing happened) and then we lifted it up…couldn’t see anything…so nothing was done.
hasn’t happened since though…

I was taking a left turn moderately hard, I generally start very wide and cut in hard for the lane lineup.
