Unhappy weird noise

For the past few months, my lancer has been making this clunky noise whenever i come back from a drive. I figured its because i need a tune-up but i took it to mitsu and got a 30k tune-up and asked them to check out the noise for me. i got a call back the same day saying that my tune-up is done but they didn't find any clunky noise. They said that the sound is probably the a/c fan running. It makes the sound even with the fan off. Besides, the sound is comming from the back of the engine and i can really hear it when i put my ear to the front left wheel well. HELP??

So wait...this noise keeps happening? It's not just when you shut off the car?

When exactly is it happening? You already said no air, so we know that. If mitsu just did a tune it, it couldn't be a belt. Is the car stock? I know my short ram made noise like that before it was really tightened down.

You might want to check the airbox, and make sure it's not moving around on you. If you have subs, make sure the wiring from the battery is tight and not bouncing around.

You could always look and see if you have a squirrel stuck in the fenderwell, I guess...

check all your bolts on your cai to make sure it isnt moving around when u shut your car off, it most likely has sumthin to do with your cai check it over once or twice to make sure everything is ok.....

illizit, that sounds like worn brake pads, how many miles do you have?

Testify. That's the sound my car made whenever the engine torqued after this happened:

If it only occurs after you drive and you kill the ignition, it could just be some relays shutting down.

no no..it doesn't do it while i'm stopped or idling w/e. It ONLY makes that noise when I press on my brakes while i'm driving.
